About Ruth

I have been in hard places.

The kind where you feel stuck and cannot see a way forward. Where the exhaustion goes so deep you lose touch with why you were pushing so hard in the first place. Where you start to wonder, quietly, if something is wrong with you because everyone else seems to be managing life better than you are.

I know those places from the inside. Emotionally, mentally, and physically. A diagnosis of Crohn's disease taught me what happens when your body finally says what you have been refusing to hear. That you cannot perform your way to peace.

Some of those hard places I navigated with support. Some I navigated alone.

I know the difference.

That is why I do this work the way I do it. Not because I have it all figured out. But because I have been there and I know how to sit in the hard place with you without needing to rush you out of it. I can be your ground while you find yours again.

And when you are ready, I would love to walk with you through the process of remembering who you are underneath everything you have been carrying. Not fixing you. Not rebuilding you. Just helping you find your way back to the woman who was always there — uncovering what she wants, what she knows, and what it feels like to actually live as her.

That is what this work is. And it is why I cannot imagine doing anything else.

I'm Ruth Hirshberg — a registered social worker with more than 15 years of experience supporting women, a certified breathwork and meditation teacher, and the founder of Grounding with Ruth. I am also the host of the Inspired Questions podcast.

How I Work

I do not believe you are broken. I do not believe you need to become someone new.

I believe you have lost touch with yourself beneath years of expectations, old beliefs, and ways of surviving that once made sense. My role is not to fix that. It is to sit beside you, help you find solid ground, and support you as you uncover the woman you already are.

Every session, every meditation, every conversation begins from that place.

Outside of this work

I live in Ontario with my husband Keith, our standard schnauzer Huron, and our cats Olive and Salem. I am most at home with a good British murder mystery, a strong cup of tea, and a quiet house.

A note about my practice

I also work as a registered social worker in a separate private counselling practice for women in Ontario. If you are looking for regulated mental health support, you can find that here.

You do not have to have it figured out before you reach out. That is exactly what the Clarity Call is for — a free 30-minute conversation to explore where you are and whether this work feels like the right fit.
